- The soldier is traveling to war but sees rats. He is afraid of the rats but does not realize they are also carrying fleas that are infected with disease.
- The flea spreads black death to the man and he is crying because he knows he is going to die.
- During the black death people began having black spots on there armpits, many people died because of it. People died in Asia within 24 hours of the soldiers arriving.
- The people didn't know how to treat it but they tried to treat it. First cover the lumps with a warm layer of butter, use a sharp knife to cut the lump and then put on the onion to draw the poison out. Another way was to get a live frog and rub the frog's belly on the lump.
- During the black death people used a cross to show who was infected. The black death symptoms was black spots under the arms, seizures, and vomiting. .
- During the black death so many people died they could not keep up with digging graves so they dug pits and put bodies in there.
