- Petition: To Get charlie Fired 840 signed.

- I feel so ashamed. I guess they're not my friends after all.
- But, Dr Strauss said this will help me get smart.
- Person VS . Technology
- I can't sleep at all with this little tv on. What is it saying?
- This shows Charlie's POV of reading the petition to get him fired from his job. He is upset because he feels like he'll never be liked no matter if he's smart or dumb.
- Person VS Nature
- Ughhh! Algernon beat me over 10 times. That mouse is too smart
- Charlie's friends make fun of him. Charlie feels ashamed and embarrassed he now realizes they were never his friends.
- Person VS Person
- This is MY experiment and MY research. You're an opportunist!
- You are more interested in the Chair of psychology at Princeton than the experiment!
- Dr Strauss tells Charlie to listen to the device while he sleeps. But, he cant sleep with it on.

- This is so hard! I wish I could be smart like everyone else. But, I will just try harder.
- This was Charlie's first time racing Algernon. He gets beat and that makes him upset.
- Dr Nemur and Dr. Strauss have differences on who's experiment it is. Dr. Nemur wants all the credit and Dr. Strauss feels like Dr. Nemur just wants the benefits from the experiment.
- Charlie is frustrated with himself because he can't learn easily like others. But, he's won't give up because he is motivated to be smart.
