The directions I give are to keep everyone safe so its important to listen
I will make sure to listen to directions next time
Later that week.....
Our time to play tag is over, I need everyone to line up to go to the next activity
I should line up to walk with the group
Thank you for listening and lining up quickly!
In this comic the child is developing their understanding of the importance of listening. Transitions are a challenge for many children at camp mataucha; this is furthered by the lack of following of direction during transitions. The children have learned the importance of listening in groups and are trying to implement listening skills throughout the day. This comic shows the child moving from the contemplation stage to the preparation stage. They were able to recognize what they did wrong when they ran away from the group by still ran away when they knew to line up; this shows the child in the contemplation stage. When they heard they needed to line up later in the week, they were able to make the small change to their behavior. This is still the preparation stage because it is not long term change to their behavior, but they are starting listen more often.
