  • Rome has made many influential contributions to modern-day society such as aqueducts, Roman roads, bridges, and tunnels.
  • Our architecture and inventions will impact many generations to come.
  • In Roman times, aqueducts were used to supply towns, fountains, and bathes with purified water. These help contribute to today's society by providing water for irrigation and fountains.
  • Today, most Roman aqueducts are still in use and pressurized.
  • Romans roads allowed soldiers and baggage to easily manuever around the empire.
  • Because Rome was the hub of commerce, trade, politics, culture, and military, Roman roads helped the Romans outpace their enemies and connect the empire. Today, Roman roads influence society by leaving a historic imprint and by allowing travel.
  • Roman bridges were built out of concrete and were famous for their circular arched form.
  • In Roman times, bridges allowed the Roman people and armies to travel safely. Today, Roman bridges are used to manuever around obstacles, travel quickly and harmlessly, and boats can successfully pass under them.
  • Tunnels make traveling easier for all of us!
  • This type of Roman architecture provided jobs and utilized geometry, surveying, and great precision. In modern times, tunnels provide a way to make traveling much easier.
  • In conclusion, Romans created many advanced inventions that helped influence modern culture and society.
