- In 1967 they introduce the draft what it is was that they would say your birthday on T.V if they did you had to join the Army but not everyone liked it so they moved to Canada.
- In 1965 after 10 years of the war the United States decided to get involved by sending 35,000 U.S troops to south Vietnam to invade north Vietnam and take out the Communist supported by China and the Soviet Union.
- But there were not prepared for the environment because the Vietcong use to set up traps and they used to plan ambush the U.S troops.
- Meanwhile back in Washington D.C hippies were protesting about the war in Vietnam outside of the White House and some of the protest got violent.
- A year later in 1968 during the celebration for Vietnam call Tet the Vietcong decided to attack the major cities in South Vietnam such as Saigon and Hue city this caught the U.S soldiers off guard.
- Finally in 1973 newly elected president Richard Nixon finally withdraw U.S troops from Vietnam this was a mistake 2 years later after the limited response from the United States North Vietnam invaded South Vietnam and capture Saigon thousand of vietnamese and U.S troops were left behind because they used eight helicopters.
