Hey, can you help me with my upcoming biology test?
So, what do you need help with?
Well, its a test about osmosis.
Wow, I just had a biology test about osmosis too a couple days ago. I can definitelyhelp you.
Hmm, I can remember that. What about hypertonic, hypotonic, and isotonic?
Ok, so osmosis is the movement of molecules across a selectively permeable membrane. They move from low to high concentration solutions.
Hypertonic solutions have higher solute concentration while hypotonic solutions have lower solute concentration. For isotonic solutions, they have the same solute concentration as a cell and they neither shrink or grow in size.
That's quite a lot of information. I hope I can remember all of that.
Oh yeah, also the membrane that the molecules go through are made of phospholipids and proteins.
Phospholipids? Never heard of that before. Anyways, I'm going to study more, thanks for the help.
Hey! You better not fail the test after I helped you!
Of course not, this test is going to be a piece of cake now!
