- I want to go to the spring fling but in Khazakhstan were not allowed to dance with boys till were 16.
- Rising action
- The short story is about Mya, a girl from Khazakhstan who moved to the U.S due to financial problems in Khazakhstan and because their Aunty persuaded them to.
- Climax
- Theres no point it wont work
- I can tell Mom and Dad i'll be your chaperone and see if you can go then
- The story takes place at Mya's school where the spring fling dance will be happening. Mya is upset thought because in Khazakhstan you are not allowed to dance with boys till you're 16 so her parents wont let her go.
- Falling action
- Nurzhan(Maya's brother) got in trouble for getting into a fight with a boy named Ossie who was making fun of Nurzhan and his family. Maya's dad was also called to the office to have a discussion with the principal Mr.Shanaman. Maya translated for her dad what the principal was saying and lied about some things he'd said so Nurzhan would get into less trouble.
- Resolution
- With no hope Maya was saddened because she coudn't go to the spring fling. Nurzhan offered to go as a chaperone to watch and make sure she doesn't do anything, Maya didn't believe it would work and felt hesitant about the idea.
- Happily Maya attends the spring fling, instead of suggesting Nurzhan to be her chaperone she told her parents she was babysitting. Nurzhan sat in a small corner trying to give her sister and her date some space.
- Maya and Daniel kept on dancing but the next time they checked on Nurzhan he wasn't around. Nurzhan went to the washroom so he could give his sister and Daniel privacy.
