- Nicole, a young woman sits in a restaurant on a date with her boyfriend, Nate, and their daughter, Isabella.
- I can't believe you set up this date for us! This is so beautiful.
- Yes!! I will!
- I just wanted to show you I appreciate you, you're the mother of my child, hopefully my wife soon. Will you marry me?
- Six months later, at Nicole's mother's house.
- How are you supposed to be able to take care of Isabella now? Your role is to stay home and be a mother!
- He cheated on me mom, you can't expect me to forgive him? or to continue this relationship?
- His decision was unfair to both Isabella and I. I will not marry him. This is not my fault.
- You should have been a better wife.
- It's over Nate, we will only be in contact for you to be a father to Isabella, we will no longer be together.
- Nicole goes over to Nate's apartment, their previous home, to collect their things.
- So you want me to take care of the child but not be with you? No way!
- So you're honestly going to pack up and leave over something this small? You're being dramatic.
- Nicole goes to her mother's again, she now has to face the challenges of being a single mother living on her own.
- You expect me to watch her? You should've kept your husband for that.
- Hey mom, do you mind watching Nicole for an hour or two, I was hoping to get some boxes unpacked
- The door is then slammed and locked.
- Nicole returns to her new apartment, it is smaller than what she had with Nick, but she will make it work. She begins to unpack.
- It is 2AM in their new house, Nicole wakes up to Isabella crying. She picks her up, then slowly rocks her back to sleep.
- You can do this, everything will be alright.
- Nicole and Isabella are in their kitchen the next morning. Nate calls, Nicole declines.
- Mommy has to look for some jobs today Izzy, do you want to help?
- Nicole arrives at Sunshine Daycare for her job interview.
- I apologize for bringing her, it's hard to find a babysitter.
- That's understandable, how many years of experience have you had?
- Thank you so much!
- Congratulations, you've got the job!
- As Nicole is leaving the daycare center, she receives a call from Nate.
- It's OVER Nate, you haven't even tried to visit Isabella or check on her.
- Your whole family wants us together, your mom just invited me for dinner, you need to make this easy for us
- Nicole hangs up the phone.
- Nicole you need to come home
- 17 years later at Isabella's high school graduation. Her mother cheers her on.
- Go Isabella!!!!
- Even after all this time, Nicole is the only one there for Isabella
- Thank you mom, I would've never done this without you.
- You did it Izzy! I'm so proud of you!
