- Alex Rider is ayoung boy. His uncle, a man with a mysterious job sudddenly dies. Alex is now told about the situation and called by an anonymous agency.
- Who are you? What do you want from me?
- I am Blunt, Cheif Execuitve of Special Operations at M16. Mrs. Jones here is our head. She gave your uncle his last assignment.

- What we're suggesting is that you succeed him in the mission and keep an eye on Herod Sayle. You may as well be able to find out why your uncle had to die!
- What we are saying is that you join us. Just 2 weeks of your time. All you have to do is find out if the computers are doing what they are supposed to. A chance to serve your country!
- I don't want to be a spy. I've got a life of my own. Why don't you ask this Felix Lester to snoop around for you instead?
- He's probably better at computer games. I am sorry, but i am not intersested.
- We don't believe he'll be as resourceful as you.
- That's a pity. Then we'ed better move on and discuss your future. I beleive your uncle left you a house and all his money. We control that trust.
