- Cortes was the best Spanish conqueror. He fought the Aztecs and claimed Mexico for Spain.He went to explore the New World when he was 19.
- La Salle
- He was in the military earlier in his life. He was the treasurer on the exploration of Mexico. His plan was to claim the land between Florida and Mexico for Spain.
- Was a Spanish explorer who explored the North America Southwest. That lead him to discovering some very important land marks like the Grand Canyon.
- He lead the exploration down the Mississippi and Illinois rivers. He claimed the land next to the Mississippi river and Named it Louisiana.
