Anh Do

- Anh's family along with 40 other people were escaping. They had lost the war and if they didn't escape soon, well then... no one knows what horrible things would happen to them. So at night, Anh's family (and 40 other people) got onto a small fishing boat and set sail to Australia.
- After 5 consecutive days of being on the water, Anh's mum spotted a large fishing vessel. Everyone was so excited! They were going to be saved! But it wasn't a fishing vessel, it was a pirate ship. Pirates jumped onto Anh's boat and took everything, then a pirate ripped open a baby's nappy and gold fell out. The pirate then held the baby over the side of the boat threatening to drop him in. Anh's dad yelled "We must save the child!" making all of the 40 hungry and tired refugees stand up to the pirate. Realizing that he was never going to win that fight, the pirate tossed the baby at Anh's mum's feet and fled.
- Luckily, a while after a ship came and they were saved.

- Finally, they had arrived in Australia! Everyone in the large group was relieved when they stepped foot on the land. A woman came up to Anh's mother and handed her a garbage bag full of girl's clothes. Not wanting to be rude, Anh's mum kindly accepted the girl's clothes even though she only had two boys.
- At school, people made fun of Anh because of his cheap and shabby clothes. (At least he didn't have to wear girl's clothes like his younger brother!)
- Now Anh is a comedian! He is regularly spreading joy and laughter!
