William Armstrong was born, but was not expected to live. He ended up living but the doctor told the family that he would not completely be all there.
I'll call him Doodle, no one expects much from someone named 'Doodle'.
Doodle and his brother would do a lot together. Since Doodle could not walk YET, his brother carried him along side in a cart wherever he would go.
One day the older brother took Doodle down to Old Women Swamp. The brother decided to teach him to walk so he wouldn't be "different" or "embarrassing." He chose to do teach Doodle to walk out of selfishness rather than simply out of respect for Doodle
Without consent training Doodle learned to walk.
One day, Doodle's family all gathered for lunch until they heard an unusual sound coming from outside. A rare bird called the Scarlet Ibis fell to the ground, and laid there dead. Doodle buried the bird.
Later, when the boys were at the swamp, it began to storm and they rushed home. Doodle was not strong enough to handle the struggle home. He called for his brothers help, but by the time the brother realized Doodle needed help, it was to late.
