  • Fort Duquesne
  • the french and the British have been rivals for a long time and the french and Indian war was only one of the conflicts between the two. Both were very powerful and wanted the land in america.
  • early french military success
  • earlier in time the french made friends with native americans and adapted to their ways, but the british did not do that they enslaved them and did the opposite of what the french did
  • later british military success
  • George washington went to the ohio river to build fort Necessity. but fort Duquesne was already there controlled by the french washington and his crew killed some of the french and built fort Necessity

  • When the british tried to surprise the french at fort Duquesne they failed miserably and lost 1000 of there troops.
  • Everything had been going really bad for the british until 1758 when William Pitt took over. he believed north america was crucial for england's domination and he founded new commanders James Wolfe and Jeffrey Amherst and they won the battle of Quebec which defeated the french.
  • since the french were no match for the british, the Treaty of Paris was signed to declare britishes victory. so they claimed all of canada the the east of america and some caribbean islands.
