- The U.S. Navy notices a Soviet nuclear submarine and accidentally hits it while trying to signal it to come up with a small-depth charge. It is taken as a threat.

- War must've begun!
- Inside the submarine...
- Arm the missiles!
- The nuclear missile can only launch if all three officers agreed to the launch. Two of the officers have already decided to launch, but the last officer hesitates.
- Why didn't you launch?
- Well, maybe it's better that we don't start a war that'll kill everyone before knowing all the facts...
- True.
- That's fair.
