  • This is a simile because it has the word like in the sentence, the simile means that when  Paul Revere's boat post crossed the moon it looked like prison bars.   
  • Personification
  • This is Alliteration because both words start with w. What the saying means is that Paul's friend is making watching the soldiers and following them to see their plans on travel.
  • Rhyme 
  • This is Assonance because it has a vowel sounds and starts with E. But the line means that Paul Reveres friend was watching the soldiers and listening to what is going on with "eager ears"(stanza 4)
  • This is personification because wind can't watch things. But the saying means that they were ready for the British to come and where feeling calm because they knew what was coming. 
  • Watchful night- wind
