  • Women didn't have very many rights, and voting was one of the rights that they didn't have. People believed the women's brain's were inferior to men, so they were incapable of voting.
  • Women losing jobs to men 
  • This is my job! You cant be here!! Go back to your house and take care of your family!
  • Flappers were women who pursue the latest fads more intensely, they were typically young women who wore short skirts, drank, smoked, and did what some people who consider "unladylike things". They wanted to experience the same freedom as men.
  • An new beginning for Women Suffrage 
  • The 19th Amendment now grants women the right to vote!
  • During World War I, thousands of women had began to work outside their homes for the first time. They filled the jobs of the men who had gone off to the war. Many became sales clerks, secretaries and operators.
  • Present Day Women Voting- 2022

  • When the troops came home, many women were forced to give up their jobs and go back to how things were before. Some still remained in the work force however. 
  • Women went to the polls nationwide for the first time in November 1920. their votes helped elect Warren Harding as President. Women didn't vote as a group, however, as some people had predicted. Like men, some women voted for republicans, and some for democrats.

  • The 19th amendment gave women the right to vote. As of 2020, 74.1% of women make up our voting population. Things have definitely changed since the 1920's and greatly effect today's society.
