  • Don't Blab Loose Traps Helps the Japs
  • Pearl Harbor was attacked on December 7th, 1941. This surprise attack set off a chain of events that would ultimately force the United States to join the Allies and declare war on the Axis powers. Following the Japanese attack, Japanese-Americans saw a dramatic increase in racial tension at home
  • After the attack on Pearl Harbor anti-Japanese sentiment arose. The media started adding negative propaganda into their works to make the Japanese as a whole not only untrustworthy, but also villains. This leads into executive Order 9066 being put into place to force both immigrants and citizens of Japanese descent into internment camps.
  • Over the next couple of months after executive order 9066 was put in place, every person of Japanese descent from the west coast were relocated to the internment camps. The order was issued because of the fear people had of them being spies for Japan. Others were either happy to see them go or did nothing to try and stop it.
  • Korematsu believed what the government was doing was unconstitutional, so he tried to sue the government. When it made it to the supreme court they disagreed and stated that it was constitutional. They decided this because when in a time of the government can take away some freedoms if they believe it will protect the people and country.
