- one day siddhartha was at his home looking out the window to the deserted grounds of his fathers castle. he had never been outside the castle gates in his life
- Siddhartha went up to his fathers study ad sure enough he was in there. "Father please let me leave the castle grounds, i just want to explore the outside world." "no Siddhartha you will not leave the gates, at least not until i allow you to. it is for your own safety."
- Siddhartha decided that if his father would not let him outside the gates then he would do it himself. When he went outside the gates the first thing he saw was an old man.
- The second thing Siddhartha saw was a man dying.
- The third thing Siddhartha saw was a religious man.
- Siddhartha found the middle path- the right balance between deny and indulge. It is called the Noble eight-fold path.
