- My mother was the best looking one on the beach, although she would never know. She shaded her green eyes with her hand. Even now, she is counting for the camera to flicker shut.
- I'm going to have a great life...
- My father's arm is over my mother's shoulder. He pretends he is with her, but in reality his mind is already in Florida, building new cities. He envisions he will be healthy. He will have a good life. He will have good fortune. People will remember his name.
- Hmm...
- I'm going to be healthy, I'm going to have a great life. I'm going to be remembered.
- Their pose says- see, aren't we the lucky ones? like how a young couple should look like. But my mother's head is tilted. What is she looking at? Perhaps the tennis player near the showers who will teach her to unlearn things. Or possibly she already sees my father, twenty years in the future, pointing a gun to his head.
