  • Interphase continued....
  • Cell Division: Mitosis
  • Prophase:
  • #3: Growth and Preparation for Cell Division: The cells then goes through another period of growth, in preparation of cell division.
  • Metaphase:
  • Mitosis: The process where the nucleus will divide to make sure that each daughter cell will have one complete set of chromosomes. There are 4 steps of mitosis.
  • After telophase....
  • #1: Interphase:-The cells take in what is needed for growth and repair.-The cells begins preparing for cell division by replicating all the chromosomes in the nucleus.-The cell goes through another additional period of growth;#2: Cell Division: -Mitosis steps in, by dividing the nucleus to ensure that each daughter cell will have one set of chromosomes.-Mitosis is broken down into 4 steps:Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, and Telophase. #3: After the telophase:-After the telophase, the new daughter cells enter interphase again, where they produce more cytoplasm and grow back to the size of the parent cell.
  • #1: Prophase: During this phase the chromatin breaks down into chromosomes and the nuclear membrane and nucleolus break down as well.
  • Overview:
  • #2: Metaphase: In this phase, chromosomes will line up in the middle of the cell called the metaphase plate, and wait for the next phase to begin.
  • ...the two new daughter cells will go through interphase again, where they will "produce more cytoplasm and grow back to the size of the parent cell." (Manitoba Education and Training) This is the end of the cell cycle!
