In the novel, "451 Fahrenheit", it is banned to read books. What if they get caught? Well, that's firemen's job to burn down there house.
Caught with books
Montag, a fireman is on his way home from work and spots a young 17 year old girl, Clarisse. They have a conversation walking home together. She left Montag questioning his happiness towards the end of their walk home. This causes Montag to also question his beliefs in burning books.
Forced to Burn
While Montag was supposed to burn down a lady's house for having books, she decides to burn herself and her books down. Montag is very confused by why this lady would do such a thing. He is curious about why the books meant so much to her. With all his curiosity, he illegally takes a book questioning it.
Captain Beatty, Montag's boss caught him with books. Beatty lectures him on why reading books are bad. He explains why these books have been censored. Beatty also says a few versus from popular poems.
Montag was forced to burn down the books himself. He refused and burned down Beatty instead. After, he escaped from his house leaving all his belongings behind except his books.
Montag stopped by at a Faber's house, a good friend who also read illegal books. He got to change his clothes and looks so no one would know it's him. He made it to a group of intellectuals who loved literature and reading books. Together, they will continue fighting and continue reading books while making the world open its eyes to these harmless books.
