- We captured Philadelphia in the fall of 1777 and now we will stay here for some time.
- Weather at the battle of Monmouth
- It is super hot but we can still win this!
- The continental army stayed in Valley Forge.
- What happened?

- We won because we defeated Lee’s force!

- We won because we occupied the battlefield.
- The weather was unbearably at temperatures over 90 degrees. Some soldiers even died because it was so hot and during the battle there was lack of water.
- Why is this battle important?
- This was longer than we expected
- The British rear guard was attacked by the Americans. Then the American groups met Washington’s main force in Freehold, NJ. The British and the Americans fought for a long time.
- They fought for a long time but it ended as a draw.
- This battle was important because is was one of the longest and biggest battle of the war.
