Tim arrived at the doctor's office for his pregnant wife's appointment...
Hi honey! Oh you know what I just remembered? You haven't gotten an HIV test yet. And it is recommended for all expectant mothers.
Yeah I guess I haven't... but why now?!
Tim then went on to explain the mother to child transmission of HIV that could occur...
Well you see, the HIV virus can be transmitted to the baby during childbirth, in the womb, or by breast milk after birth
Wow I didn't know that! It does make sense that I should at least be aware of the risk for my baby.
Tim went to sleep that night knowing he had helped people learn about the transmission and prevention of HIV!
