- Tracy Turnblad, Motormouth Maybelle, Seaweed and many other blacks indignated because of the racial discrimination in Corny Collins Show and went out to the street in fornt of the broadcasting company for peaceful protest which was against racial discrimination. However, the police stopped them by using public power.
- Corny Collins was about to announce that the winner of the Miss Baltimore is Amber Von Tussle. At that moment, Tracy Turnblad surprisingly appeared in the stage. As a result, Anez, who is black, received the glory of Miss Baltimore.
- Everyone in the studio began dancing together regardless of the skin color. Tracy Turnblad and Link, Penny Pingleton and Seaweed danced together which well showd the integration of white and black. Velma Von Tussle frustrated, and the era of no-racial segregation began.
