- I HATE Lillie!
- Drink this tea. It'll help you.
- Where am I?
- I'm Devon. Life was normal, until Lillie met Dad. Lillie was nice to Dad, but not with me. And one day, Lillie's two sons, Quan and Sang visited America from Vietnam. Quan and Sang were around the same age as me.
- Welcome, Devon! I'm Joy!
- Dad started to become ill, so Lillie started giving Dad some tea. As things became worse, she then took us to Vietnam, since she has an uncle who's a doctor there. Lillie's uncle was doing the best he could to help. Or, at least that's what I thought.
- Are you, my mom, Sheila, Macintyre?
- Yes, Devon.
- One day, I woke up in Cambodia, because I was sold to a woman named Long. In Cambodia, I met three boys, Minh, An, and Hein, and a sixteen-year-old girl named Tham.
- Welcome home, Devon!
- One day, me and the rest of the children that Long had were saved by an officer named Detective Pearson. After we were all saved, I met my new family. The caretaker was Joy, who already was taking care of two other children named Kimmy and Ted.
- Later, I started communicated with Vick again, and went to school. One day, I found out that my mom wasn't dead, and that Dad lied to me. My mom, Sheila had already gotten remarried to a husband named Brad, and has a child named Mitchell. One day, I called Sheila if I could meet her family for dinner, and we both agreed that we would meet up on Monday, and would eat anything but rice.
- On Monday, Sheila drove me to her house, then showed me around. After she showed me around her tidy and small house, she warmed some spaghetti she made the day before. After dinner, me and Sheila played catch, until Brad ad Mitchell came home. After visiting Sheila and Brad a few more times, Joy gave me an idea about me moving in with them. Later, I told Vick about me moving away and how I'll still communicate with him. When I moved away, I hugged Joy and I promised to meet her new children she'll be taking care of.
