- The British and colonist fought in a war against the French and Indians to make sure that the land wasBritish. This war led Britain to become broke.
- Boston Tea Party
- Britain Parliament decides to tax the Americans on goods to get out of the debt that they obtained from the war. Theses goods included stamps sugar and tea.

- Revolutionary war
- On the night of December 16,1776 people from the sons of liberty dressed up like Indians to sneak onto a British ship carring tea. they dumped 342 chest of tea into the Boston harbor, because Britain made a deal with the east India company to sell cheap tea to the colonist.
- After the events of the Boston tea party the British placed intolerable acts on the colonist. these were 5 rules placed on the colonists to make sure nothing like the Boston tea party never happened again.

- Halfway through 1775, the colonists had enough. They wanted to break free from Britain. This war between the colonists and Britain lasted 8 years and by the end of it the colonist were free from Britain and now in a new country called the United States of America.
