- Baucis and Philemon
- Jupiter and his son Mercury came down to Earth in human form
- They went to visit Baucis an old dame and her husband Philemon who lived in a modest cottage and had grown old together
- After seeing the wine pitcher refill itself Baucis and Philemon recognized their heavenly guests and fell to their knees asking for forgiveness
- The Gods were angry with the others in the village except for Baucis and Philemon. Every house in the country fell underwater except for theirs.
- The Gods turned their house into a temple and offered them one wish. Baucis and Philemon wished to pass away at the same time so one would not have to live with the other.
