- Ever since Layla got arrested the CPS found her and took her into foster care, Layla's foster care parents are really happy to take Layla in. She wasn't so sure how to feel in this situation. She is happy that she is away from her mom but still misses Andy and wants to see him soon.
- Layla, these are your foster parents. They will be taking care of you

- Hi Layla! we are so happy to have you in our home.
- The next day Layla got to see her brother Andy fro dinner and she was so happy. She found out that he wont be staying with her anymore.

- Towards the very end of the book one of the workers at CPS had to tell Layla something important that it can change her life forever.
- WHAT?? I don't believe that Andy is my half brother. Where's my mother? did you guys find her yet?? I cant see Andy anymore because he's getting taken away by his father??
- So...Layla Andy is your half brother...you and Andy have two different dads. Andy's dad wants Andy to live with him. I'm sorry that you wont be staying with the foster parents we assigned you. You will now be staying at a Group home.
