  • Hi! I am learning about the caste system in my U.S. history class and I was wondering if you could teach me something about it!
  • Welcome to India! I would be happy to!
  • The DalitUntouchablesdo all the lower-order work subordinate to all
  • KshudrasServants, subordinate to Vaishyas, Khastryias, and Brahmins
  • VaishyasBusiness community
  • KshatriyasWarriorsKings
  • BrahminsPriestsAcademics
  • Well, the Untouchables were separated from the caste system meaning that were the lowest of the low, so they don't get to come in contact with many of he higher rankings.
  • Why are the Dalit or Untouchables separated from the rest of the rankings?
  • Ok, that makes more sense.
  • Yep! Next were the Kshudras and the Vaishyas. The Kshudras were lower class but definitely not as low class as the Untouchables. They were most likely servants or unskilled farmers.
  • The Vaishyas were middle class. Vaishyas were in the business community and could also be something like a skilled farmer.
  • Next on the pyramid are the Kshatriyas. These were the warriors and kings. They were second highest on the pyramid and were well respected.
  • Lastly were the Priests and Academics, also knows as the Brahmin. They were the people that held the most power and respect.
  • I sure did! Thanks for all your help! See you later!
  • I hope you learned something new!
