- The banks failed on October 29,1929. The banks failed because they were not gaining money from the loans that they gave to people. they also could not pay back other people, causing them to be mad.
- Dust Bowl
- During Hoovers presidency people would make Shantytowns or "Hoovervilles" . Hoover thought that business leaders should take the way, which didn't work that much.However, he did encourage charities to set up soup kitchens

- During his presidency, FDR shut down the banks. He also made a lot of new deals to help the depression. Although, the court named some of the courts unconstitutional.

- The Dust Bowl was a series of dust storms that went through the Great Plains and East Coast in the 1930's 1940's. Many people died and became sick due to the storms. the dust bowl ended to record breaking rain falls.
- Farmers lost all of their crops and land due to the storms. People also became very sick and moved west to escape the storms. Movies and books like The Wizard of Oz and Of Mice and Men demonstrate the effects of the Dust Bowl
