  • The Ural Mountains - a fairly low mountain range that separates European Russia from Asian Russia.
  • Siberia - the coldest part of Russia, covered in permafrost.
  • The Caucasus Mountains - home to the Eurasian republics of Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan (ahz ur by JAHN).
  • The Caspian Sea - actually a large lake. Borders Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
  • The Black Sea - a sea bordering Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, as well as parts of Europe
  • The Aral Sea - the Aral Sea is actually a salt-water lake. Farmers in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan wanted to grow cotton, so they used the process of irrigation to divert water from rivers that flowed into the Aral Sea, slowly drying it up. This affected many fisherman's lives.
