- RISING ACTION
- Hester Prynne, a young woman living in Puritan (now known as Boston) has been living as a Widow from many years because her husband has not came back to home from many years. And now Hester has given birth to a baby girl name PEARL and she has refused to name the father of the child. So, she has been on a trial for committing a sin i.e. ADULTERY. And as a symbol of Punishment and Shame she has to wear a Scarlet Letter i.e. an "A" locket around her neck.
- CLIMAX
- Hester's Husband "Roger Chillingworth" comes back to Boston and learns about Hester's act and gets very angry and he makes Hester swear to secrecy that she will not tell anyone that he is Hester's Husband and then he tells Hester that she will find her lover and then he is gonna kill her lover. Furthermore, Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale the Minister of the city gets very ill and sick.
- FALLING ACTION
- I CANNOT BELIEVE ON WHAT I SAW!
- After, seven years Dimmesdale meets Hester and Pearl and Chillingworth who was working as a Dimmesdale doctor for years gets to know that Dimmesdale is Pearl's Father. Whereas, Dimmesdale promises Hester that after his Election he is gonna tell everyone about their Relationship and the truth about Pearl's Father. And then they all will move from here and gonna live somewhere else together..
- RESOLUTION
- After winning the Elections, Dimmesdale delivers his Election Speech with great joy and energy. And then calls Hester and Pearl on the stage and reveals the truth about Pearl's father and tells that he is Hester's lover and tells everyone that how much guilty he is for not stepping forward and telling the truth before. And then he opens his shirt in front of everyone revealing an "A" engraved on his chest's skin. And because of that wound he dies in Hester's Lap.
- People of the city can not believe on what they had seen before. Some people deny that there was no "A" on Dimmesdale chest and he died because of heart attack. And some people say that they can not believe that Pearl is Dimmesdale Daughter. Therefore, after some months Chillingworth also dies and leaves all his property to Pearl making Pearl and Hester very rich. And Hester and Pearl then leaves for Europe from Boston.

- After many years, Hester and Pearl returns back to Boston and they start living in the same house, they were living in before. Hester still wears The Scarlet Letter as a symbol of Dimmesdale Love. The city women love and respect Hester and Pearl and they take advices on life from Hester. Hester dies after several years, and she is buried next to Dimmesdale and they both share the same Tombstone on which it is written that "ON A FIELD, SABLE, THE LETTER A, GLUES".
