  • First battle of bull run: the union tries to push forces to Richmond with the help of stonewall Jackson and confederate reinforcements the cs wins and demoralizes the north.
  • Battle of Fort Sumter: was the first battle of the civil war in which the confederacy laid siege to fort Sumter before resources could get to it
