This scene describes crital, as you can tell brother is ashamed to be seen with Doodle in a wheel chair. In Scarlet Ibis brother says " I was embrassed to have a brother at that age who could walk". (part 2 line 1)
symbolism
In this story brother calls Doodle "crippled" meaning not having the ability to do something other kids his age would be able to do. (part 2 line 17)
theme
In the story it also describes Doodles home which is what is represented in the picture above. "The flower garden is prim, the house agleaming white, and the pale fence across the yard stands straight and spruce". ( part 1 line 2)
The picture above symbolizes how Doodle ends up in the end of the Scarlet Ibis. In the passage brother and doodle find a bird that had been flying a long way due to a storm but once they find it, the bird passes away. In this passage the author shows us that Doodle tried his best with making brother proud but there was somethings that seemed impossible. "Dont leave me brother" (part one line 19)
The author belives that pride can be a good and bad thing depending on how you decide to use it. In scarlet ibis brother has a lot of pride but all of that pride leads to Doodle getting hurt in the end. "Dont leave me brother" (end of part 3"
