- That's me Garry Grape.
- The Great Grape Life
- It was a normal day in Western Asia until Vikings came and grabbed me and my family (by the vines!) then took off to a huge vast of ocean. But when we made it to land. Most of us could not survive until the Vikings improved us and then we could live there.
- I went from Asia to Greece by a Viking named Phoenicians then in about 1655 us grapes were everywhere people loved us and we were especially loved in the Mediterranean region.
- We were as popular as the Kings and Queens!
- Sadly disaster struck and the species of grapes were dyeing off from being infected by phylloxera. Luckily not all of us were being infected.
- I am afraid they did not make it.
- I am okay!!
- Then people were making wine with grapes. Later in the 1700s we were taken by the Spainish to the Americas. Now we are huge in the US especially in California who makes more than 90% of the grapes in the US
- Remember where it began!
