Storyboard Text

  • Now that I know what fluids are what are solids?
  • Solids are objects with densely packed or tightly packed molecules. My chair for example is solid.
  • My last question I have is what is heat transfer?
  • Heat transfer is movement of thermal energy from one thing to another
  • Okay!
  • Actually lets go to the kitchen, there's a good example of heat transfer there.
  • Why though?
  • You see here this is a great example of heat transfer, radiation, conduction, and convection.
  • Oh that's why.
  • It shows radiation because thermal energy is going from the fire's hot temperature to the pot and water. It shows convection because heat is being transferred in the water. It shows conduction because heat is being transferred to the pot by microscopic collisions.
  • Thanks for teaching me so much about thermal energy. I definitely will be ahead of all the other kids in science when I become a sixe grader!
  • Your welcome bud.
