  • Tree-ears dream is to one day become a potter and make vases of his own. He watches a potter named Min make vases from a far. But one day, when Min was no where to be seen, he went down to look at the vases more closely.
  • Climax
  • NO! NOT THE VASES! ANYTHING BUT THE VASE, PLEASE!
  •  (After working for Min for almost a year, he was informed that the emissary's would be coming and be choosing a potter for a commission.) Tree-Ear saw Kang working with colored slip! He wondered if he should tell Min or not so he asked for advise from his good old friend Crane-Man. Crane-Man told him to wait until Kang himself told others or it would be steeling Kangs idea.

  • Min got a commission.
  • Be home in time for diner!
  • Min had told the emissary that he could not go on the trip to Songdo because he was now an old man, and it was far to far for him to make the trip himself. Tree-Ear has volunteered to do it for him instead. And before he made his long journey, he wanted to give his old friend Crane-Man one last gift, a clay monkey he had made himself.
  • Thank you, Tree-Ear. And good luck on your trip.
  • On his way to Songdo, he remembered Crane-Man telling him he should visit the rock of the falling flowers. And when Tree-Ear saw it he could help but take a look. As Tree-Ear took in the beautiful view, he hear someone call from a far "You know the story, eh?", that's when everything fell apart. Long story short, he was robbed, held down, but the wrote part to Tree-Ear, was watching the thefts destroy the vases.
  • After returning to Ch'ulp'o with the good news of Min's commission. Tree-ear couldn't help but notice the troubled look on Min's face.  But little did he know what was awaiting him. Turns out, his good friends, only friend, Crane-Man, had fallen in a river above the bridge and drown. In honor of his old friend, Tree-Ear made the Thousand Crane Vase when he was older.
  • But now I have a home...I'm not sure if I feel happy, or sad....
  • Crane-Man's dead.
