- "okay class, if we take a look at the board I am showing you three different kinds of bears. Among your class mates discuss the similarities and differences you see of the top of the bat."
- "Okay class now that you have discussed the differences and similarities I want divide into three groups and each group will be assigned one of the bears. you will have to draw elements of the possible habitat of the bear on a sheet of paper."
- "Okay class now that you have discussed the differences and similarities I want you to use this information and think about the features each bear has and what would be the appropriate environment for that bear and why?"

- "okay, looking at all the posters can anyone tell me about some features you learned about your groups bear and why it fits with their environments. What can you tell me from what the diets show about the bears and how it relates to the environments each bear lives in ? Can everyone see the connection between the features they have and how they are special to their own environments?"
- "There are eight different types of bears around the world and they all have different environments. Now, with your same groups I want you to investigate those species and find their food source, what kinds of diets they have, and how their population is affected."

- "okay, now i want everyone to take a sheet of paper out and list three bears and describe what they eat, where they live, and what they look like. Then I want you to answer: If someone took a polar bear to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming and took a grizzly bear to the Arctic coast, do you thing the bears would be able to live in their new homes? and describe why or why not?"
