  • Back in Freshman Year, there was a writing competition at Rowan Roth and Neil McNair's high school. They had to write about what book impacted them most. Rowan had written about a Romance Novel and Neil had written about The Great Gatsby. Neil won 1st place and mocked Rowan for writing about a Romance Novel, which was the start of their feud.
  • Rowan: At least I didn't write about the most basic book that pretty much everyone has read!!
  • BOOK THAT IMPACTED YOU MOST:ROWAN ROTH: VISION IN WHITENEIL McNAIR: THE GREAT GATSBY
  • Neil: Imagine writing about a romance novel in an essay contest! Haha, what a loser! A romance novel impacted you most?!
  • What are you talking about?! You were the one that told me to not add the sodium!
  • Many things happened after their first conflict. They were the two smartest kids in the school and always wanted to be better than the other. They competed over student council, the amount of pull-ups they could do, SAT scores, and so much more over 3 years. In their Junior year, they both took AP Chemistry and the teacher knew about their hate for each other and thought he could fix that by making them lab partners. This only led to trouble and caused a fire during a lab.
  • Rowan! Neil! What are you doing?!
  • You added the wrong chemicals! You were supposed to add the sodium!
  • Finally, the end of their senior year is here and the last chance to beat Neil academically was by becoming Valedictorian. But unfortunately, Neil was better in academics and extracurriculars. Rowan became Salutatorian, while Neil was Valedictorian. Then a game for seniors (called Howl) started. This game is a scavenger hunt that is like capture the flag as well. Each senior is given a name of another senior on a piece of paper and that person can technically "kill" that person on their paper, by taking their wristband. The seniors must be careful that their wristband don't get taken while they are out solving riddles. The reward for winning is money (by completing all the riddles and not getting your wristband taken).
  • Neil: I DID IT!
  • Rowan: No way... I lost? Now he can say he's better than me...
  • Principal: Ladies and Gentlemen, attention please! This class had two students that both showed great academic excellence and involvement in the community, but one did more than the other... Give it up for this year's Valedictorian, Neil McNair! Neil don't forget to prepare for your speech for tomorrow's graduation.
  • Now it's time to get this year's Howl started for our seniors!
  • Once the game started, Savannah Bell, another senior who was third in class ranking, gathered her friends and wanted to create a plan that would let them beat Neil and Rowan in their last competition. Rowan and Neil overheard Savannah talking about this and started thinking that they should work together so that they could compete in the ending after they take out Savannah.
  • Even if Rowan and Neil won everything like a million times, this doesn't seem like a good idea...
  • Wait they're plotting against us? Should I team up with Neil?
  • Savannah Bell: I AM TIRED OF COMING IN THIRD PLACE TO BOTH NEIL AND ROWAN! THIS IS OUR LAST CHANCE TO BEAT THEM! WE SHOULD TEAM UP TO TAKE THEM OUT OF THE GAME! WHO'S WITH ME?
  • Neil and Rowan are cool, I don't want to ruin anyone's fun.
  • Neil and Rowan decide to team up to work together through the scavenger hunt to help each other. Neil said that he had some other name on his slip of paper (the person he could "kill"). They actually talked normally as friends and weren't fighting about their conversations. Both Neil and Rowan realize that the other person isn't as bad as they thought. They figured that they had misunderstood each other for the past 4 years.
  • He isn't as bad as I thought. I actually relate with him a lot more than I expected. Not going to lie, he is slightly attractive, in a friendly way of course. Maybe we could actually be friends.
  • Rowan and Neil have been working together for a few hours and they solved a clue that led them to the school. Rowan parked her car and Neil went inside the school to get the clue. She found Neil's jacket in the car and there was a paper in the pocket. It had the name of the person that Neil could kill if he took their wristband. The name written on the paper shocked Rowan.
  • OH NO! ROWAN NO!
  • Why did I start liking this jerk!?
  • Huh, Neil left his jacket in my car when he went inside. Wait a minute... what's this sheet of paper in the pocket? It's probably the name of the girl he said he could kill. Wait.. Oh my gosh!
