  • Evolution
  • Evolution: thanks to evolution, my body has slowly adapted to the winter, now I am able to create a home made anti freeze by just using my own urine and glucose.
  • Hi My name is Mr. Cheggs and I am a wood frog from Alaska, Today I am here to show you all of the characteristics of life and how each and every one of them play a drastic role in my life.
  • Stimulus and Homeostasis
  • Homeostasis: There are 2 types of animals, you have your endothermic's/mammals. Or you are coldblooded like me and can survive freezing like temperatures.
  • Stimulus: The winter is finally arriving and this is where the magic happens. As my body starts to get cold I know it is about time to find a cave and start whipping up my anti freeze
  • Cells
  • Cells: When my body freezes all of my organs do as well, but luckily my anti freeze comes in and keeps me alive. During the freezing stage my cells also start to freeze and shrivel. So it is important that my anti freeze works so that I wont freeze all of cells and most importantly my red blood cells that carry oxygen all throughout my body
  • Genetic code
  • Growth and Development
  • Growth and Development: When I was a little fertilized egg I weighed around 0.044 grams, a few weeks later I was swimming on my own as a tadpole and I weighed about 2 grams. But now as a full grown wood frog I can get up too as much as 8 grams
  • Metabolism and Reproduction
  • Metabolism: Once I Get out of that long , long Freeze state, there are only three things I want to do, one is to eat, I haven't eaten in 8 months so a delicious fly sounds nice, to find a Mrs. Cheggs and to have a long awaited pee
  • Genetic code: The nucleus in my DNA tells all of my cells to create curtain proteins so that when the time comes I can create my Anti Freeze
  • Reproduction: Once I leave the anti freeze I will go to Find a Mrs. Cheggs and create more Mr and Mrs. Cheggs
