The Alchemist alternate ending
Storyboard Text
- Santiago and the alchemist are captured while journeying through the desert.
- After they are taken back to the camp, the Alchemist turns out to be an imposter tasked with bringing the boy who read the omens to the tribe.
- A few days pass by and Santiago is on the verge of giving up until he hears a whisper coming from the wind.
- Santiago uses the universal language to talk to the desert, wind, and sun. While this is happening strong winds start to blow all around the camp.
- When the wind finally stopped the "alchemist" went to where Santiago was being held only to find out that he was gone. The boy has turned himself into the wind.
- Santiago is now, quite literally, as free as the wind. He can go anywhere no that he has escaped. He decides to go towards his treasure. After finally reaching the pyramids he immediately starts digging, failing to notice the old man next to a pyramid. That old man turns out to be the alchemist who has always known that Santiago would succeed in achieving his personal legend.
