Storyboard Text

  • Hey, have you started on the hypothesis for our experiment yet?
  • No, not yet. I'm not sure how to formulate the alternative and null hypothesis.
  • Okay, I think I understand. But how do we know what type of test to use?
  • Well, the null hypothesis is what we assume to be true unless proven otherwise.
  • The alternative hypothesis is what we want to prove to be true.
  • That depends on what we're trying to prove. If we want to compare two groups, we would use a t-test. If we want to see if there's a relationship between to variables, we would use a correlation test
  • Got it. And what about the shape of the curve?
  • That's determined by the type of test we use. for example, a t-test would have a bell-shaped curve, while a correlation test would have a linear curve.
  • Thanks for explaining all of this to me. I feel much more confident in formulating our hypothesis now.
  • No problem. Let's get started on our experiment
  • Now, that is how you can identify the appropriate test statistics involving population mean.
  • And that's the end of our lesson for today. See you all in our next class. Thank you and God bless.
  • Thank you sir!
