Storyboard Text

  • Starting a Tennis Game
  • Opposing Player would stand at this end
  • Love-All!
  • Once the Ball is Served...
  • The Game Begins!

  • When serving, player must start from right side of the court and aim for the square diagonal from them on the other side. At the beginning of a game, the score is Love-all (aka Zero-Zero)Opposing Player (not pictured) stands at the opposite end of the court before receiving.
  • Point System
  • 15- Love
  • Tennis Ball must bounce once before being received
  • When to Switch Sides
  • The game commences once the opposing player receives the ball!
  • Who Wins the Match?
  • Point system is through 4 points - 15, 30, 40, Game. After each turn, server moves to opposite end and aims for the square diagonal from them on the other side. The score is announced in order of (Server, Opposing Player). Here, the server has 1 point so far.
  • Players switch sides at the end of odd games. (ex. after the first set, players switch sides and the other player serves)
  • Traditional tennis matches are based on a best out of 3 sets. (Need 2 sets to win). Grand Slams will have more specific rules however.
