  • Now instead of the height Bob wants to find the angle he is looking at the building from. For this instead of using cross multiplication Bob will use a invers ratio to find the angle.. Bob knows the building is 45ft tall and he is 30ft away from the building. This means he can use the ration tan because he has the opposite and his adj. Now bob will input tan invers then put 45 over 30 in his calculator. Then he will get 56 so that means he is looks up at the building at a 56 degree angle.
  • Bob likes looking at the height of buildings. The angle he is looking at is 30 degrees. And he is 10 ft away from the base. So bob will use trigonometric equation to solve. Since he has the opposite and adj he will use tan and cross multiply. When he does that he fines out that the height of the building is actually 6 ft.
  • Bob has found another building. The angle he is looking is 20 degrees. And the height of the building is 200ft. So he is trying to see how far he is. First he will see what ratio he can use he can use Tan because he has bothered the adj and the opp. After that he wil cross multiply and then he will hlge549ft so that means that he is standing 549ft away from the building.
  • Bob has found one last building that he wants to find the height of . So he is 30ft away from the base of the building and he is looking at it with a 45 degree angle. To find how tall the building is he has to find his ratio in this case it would be tan. So he would do Tan(45) over 1 is equal to x which is the opp and 30 which is the adj. And when you finish doing the mulitypcation he finds out that the building is actually 30ft tall.
