As you can see, Marcella has almost finished interphase. She has doubled her amount of chromosomes and they have now become sister chromatids. Her chromosomes now appear in thread like coils and she has copied all of her DNA.
Marcella has always wanted to be in two places at once. She discovered the the cell cycle lets her do that. Right now, she is going through the first phase called: INTERPHASE!
Now Marcella Is going through the first stage of mitosis: PROPHASE! This is where her nuclear membrane dissolves, centrioles begin to move to opposite ends of her, and spindle fibres form between her poles.
Marcella is now going through the second stage of mitosis called: METAPHASE! This is where the chromatids (sister chromosomes) attach themselves to the spindle fibres.
Marcella is now going through the third step of mitosis called: ANAPHASE! This is when the chromatids start to separate and move to opposite sides of the cell.
Marcella is now going through the last stage of mitosis: TELOPHASE! This is when two new nuclei form, chromosomes appear as chromatin, and a new nuclear membrane forms. Marcella is almost ready to party!
Marcella Just went through the final step of the cell cycle: CYTOKINESIS! This is when the cell membrane moves inward to split and create two daughter cells. They each have their own nucleus and they have indentical DNA.
So now, while one Marcella is working her boring old desk job, the other Marcella is out at the club. She is dancing, singing, consuming food through her cell membrane through the process of osmosis, and having lots of fun!
