  • i cant believe that king Charlemagne finally let us battle for the first time!
  • i know right! im so excited
  • peasants and serf's
  • ugh another long day of work
  • yeah,most serfs like us work as farmers for most of our lives
  • lords and ladies
  • The 2 knights get ready for their first battle. Knights begin training at age 7,when the get a couple years older then they become squires. After lots of hard work and dedication they become knights.
  • kings
  • Peasants and serfs days start at 3am and they work all day long. If they are born a serf they will stay a serf for the rest of their lives. Serfs can become free if they hide away for 1 year and 1 day.
  • knights in battle
  • Lords worked as judges in manor courts and had the power to fine and punish those who broke the law. It was the lords responsibility to manage and defend his land. Except for fighting women had all of the duties that lords had
  • serfs and peasants jobs
  • Im so happy that i finally got my own section of land to farm on!
  • I wish I had my own land! Not fair!
  • The kings would keep the peace, administer justice, and uphold the law. Other medieval kings duties were to defend the church and develop a government that is centralized.  
  • Knights were expected to loyal to the church and their lord and to protect the helpless. Jousts and tournaments were a major part of knights lives. A tournament involved a team of knights in a one on one battle.
  •  Free peasants rented land to farm and owed only their rent to the lord. Unfree peasants farmed the lords fields and could not leave the lords manor. In return for their labor they received their own small plot of land to farm.
