  • Macbeth had picked up a bloody dagger after Banquo and Fleance left to go to sleep. His feet then lead the way to the room Duncan was sleeping in. “I go, and it is done. The bell invites me. Hear it not, Duncan, for it is a knell That summons thee to heaven or to hell.”
  • Macbeth brings the bloody dagger to Lady Macbeth. He’s covered in blood, and completely hysterical. She yells at him for not washing the blood off of himself and the dagger. “I’ll go no more. I am afraid to think what I have done. Look on ’t again I dare not.”
