Storyboard Text

  • "For brave Macbeth (while he deserves that name)... Like Valor's minion, carved out his passage"(1.2.18-21)
  • "All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter!"(1.3.54).
  • "The eye wink at the hand, yet let that be Which the eye fears, when it is done, to see" (1.4.59-60).
  • During battle, Macbeth kills Macdonwald and brings King Duncan to victory.
  • "To his home before us. Fair and noble hostess, We are your guests tonight"(1.6.30-31).
  • The witches prophecized that Macbeth will become king of Scotland.
  • "With I will wine and wassail so convince That memory, the warder of the brain. . . I perform upon Th' unguarded Duncan? What not put upon His spongy officers, who shall bear guilt"(1.7.74-81)
  • Macbeth wishes that he does not see when he kills Duncan so he does not feel guilt or regret.
  • "Have plucked my nipple from his boneless gums/ And dashed the brains out, had I so sworn as you"(1.7.65-66)

  • King Duncan believes Lady Macbeth is a fair hostess but ironically she plans to have him killed later that night.
  • Lady Macbeth plans to intoxicate Duncan's guards then have Macbeth kill Duncan, and the guards will be blamed for his death
  • Death Imagery- Lady Macbeth says she'd kill her child if she had sworn to as Macbeth had sworn to kill Duncan. This shows how Lady Macbeth's ambition can provoke her to do cruel and immoral things.
