- Hey, Mateo. Nice hat.
- Did you just get the alert a few minutes ago?
- Good call. A Luigi hat isn't exactly a baseball cap, right?
- This scene is important to my novel because it is one of the first things that we learn about the book. Mateo learns that he is going to be passing away in the next 24 hours. This is the start of where his journey begins.
- Thanks. Think I'm going to leave the hat here at home. I don't want the attention.
- Death-Cast called me a little after midnight.
- sorry you'll be lost, Rufus.
- Eactly.

- Hello Mateo. I am calling from Death-Cast. I regret to inform you that some time in the next twenty-four hours you'll be meeting an untimely death. On behalf of everyone here at Death-Cast, live this day to the fullest, Okay?

- This is when we start to find out more about Fufus and his group of friends. Just before Rufus finished beating up Peck, he gets a call that he is going to die that day. Shortly after that, we see that Mateo and Rufus have one thing in common and that is all they needed to meet and become friends.

- This is when Mateo and Rufus meet for the very first time. Their bond over knowing they are both going to die the same day, brings them closer together and helps them become better friends
- Hello Rufus!!
- Another important scene in the story is how Mateo and Rufus's relationship develops in to something more in the short time since they met. This is their last time to live without regrets, To finally be themselves.
- As Mateo put the pot on the burner and switches it on, his heart sinks as the realization that death is coming
- Moments later, Rufus awakens to a smoke filled room, finding it hard to breathe. Rufus blindly searches within arms reach but when hw finds him, he is badly burned,
