- Akiak I've got a plan! It's a fantastic plan, and it's going to change everything!
- I'm going to buy food for my trip!
- Don't worry. I'm not going to buy chocolates again
- Great! It's still here! They surely took the skidoo

- No, he doesn't. We usually buy bread at the shop.
- How do men hunt the caribou?
- Then I'll give you some to take home with you. He'll be happy to eat it with the meat from the hunt.

- It's very exciting. The boys run after the caribou and frighten them. Then the men kill them with bows and arrows. Sometimes they trick the caribou, too. Two men walk together, talking. The caribou follow them for some reason. Then one of the men leaves and goes behind the caribou. They trap them and kill them.
- Is the herd near here?
- I think it's near the empty seal-hunters' village. It isn't far, so I'm sure the men will return soon.
- The men are hunting a big herd now. The animals are going south for the winter . They can give us food for many months.
- It sounds cruel.
- It is the traditional way - the caribou way. We need the caribou to survive.
